They marched across the school playground and into the school hall where they stood in front of the whole school for a very special assembly. Captain Kasimatis presented a PowerPoint that included the history of the Evzones, their role, purpose and the symbolism of their clothes. This was a most auspicious, informative and very enjoyable visit for teachers and students alike. Page 1

2 Primary News 2018 Prep & Kindergarten Enrolments Enrolments for Prep and Kindergarten 2018 are still open. If you are an existing parent and have not yet enrolled, please do so as soon as possible. Also if you have a relative or friend who is interested in enrolling in any grade, please ask them to contact the school Secretary, Ms Kiahidis. School Fees The end of the financial year is quickly approaching. Parents are asked to finalise any outstanding School fees before the end of the term. Please do not leave the payment of fees to the last week of June. Queen s Birthday - NO SCHOOL The School will be closed on Monday 12 June for the Queen s Birthday Public holiday. Parent/Teacher Interviews K-6 Parent/Teacher Interviews will take place on Tuesday 20 June between 3:10pm and 7:00pm. A separate note has already been sent home for parents to request a suitable time to meet their children s teachers. CUA Fun Run We are very excited to be participating in the CUA Fun Run this year. Our Fun Run will be held on Thursday 1 June at Lake Gillawarna, Georges Hall. Students will be transported by bus after 9.00am from School. We are also very excited to announce that Channel 7 Sunrise will be filming our School in the lead up to the Fun Run. If students haven t already done so, they are encouraged to bring back their notes and notify their teachers if they can be at School as early as 5.30am for the first live weather cross with Sam Mac. Students are also encouraged to create their student profile pages at to get the most out of the fundraiser. Our online fundraising is now up and running. Money raised must be handed in by Friday 16 June, so please make sure you ve returned all your money to your class teacher by then. Also don t forget that you need to order your prizes online this year so go to and create your student profile page (if you haven t already). Baby News Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Gallo on the recent birth of her beautiful little boy called Aari. He is a wonderful addition to their growing family. Holiday PSSA Game Our winter PSSA teams will have a game during the first week of the school holidays on Friday 30 June. A note will be sent home regarding the details of these games. Students will meet their coaches at their respective venues at 12:45pm for a 1pm start. Please try to ensure all team members are available for this game so that teams do not have to forfeit. Venues: Boys Newcombe Ball- Georges Hall Public School Girls Newcombe Ball- Bye round (NO GAME) Girls Netball- Deveral Park, Condell Park Boys Soccer- Jim Ring Reserve, Birrong Girls Soccer- Neville Reserve, Bass Hill Sick Leave The School is required to record the reason for any absences as a way of ensuring that students are absent from school only when they are sick or for another valid reason. The Act requires you to explain your child s absences within seven days of their occurrence. A note must be given to your child s class teacher stating the days absent and the reason for the absence. If a parent knows that their child will be away sick for more than 3 days, they are asked to notify the School by calling the Primary School Secretary. Page 2

3 Application for Special Leave Regular attendance at school is essential if students are to maximise their potential. Schools, in partnership with parents, are responsible for promoting the regular attendance of students. The Education Act 1990, requires students to attend school whenever instruction is provided. Taking the family on holidays should be planned to coincide with the school holidays. If for some reason this cannot happen, parents must complete an Application for Extended Leave-Vacation/Travel Form, asking for special leave. The application for leave must include the date of departure and the date of return. Any absences related to travel are now included as absences. Writing and English Competition The ICAS Writing Competition will be held on Wednesday 14 June and the ICAS English Competition on Tuesday 1 August. Students will only be able to sit for the assessment if they have already paid for entry into the ICAS Competitions scheduled throughout the year. If you wish for your child to take part in the English Competition please forward $9 before 15 June. Premier s Reading Challenge The Premier s Reading Challenge is now underway. The Challenge aims to encourage a love of reading for leisure and pleasure in students, and to enable them to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge for each student to read more and to read more widely. Students should now be returning their book logs to have their books added to their online challenge list. The challenge finishes in September, so there s plenty of time to begin if you haven t already. wearing correct uniform every day, including appropriate haircuts. Step cuts, buzz cuts and side cuts are not permitted. Instead, we expect boys to have a short, tidy haircut and girls to have all their hair in a ponytail. Jewellery, nail polish and other accessories are not permitted either. Please ensure students are dressed appropriately as detentions will now start being issued. Sport Bus / Transport Levy The Term 3 bus levy of $30 is due by Friday 21 July. Please ensure that the money is paid to the class teacher. End of Term 2 Friday 23 June Term 2 concludes on Friday 23 June. Students will attend an end of Term Church service where they will receive Holy Communion. Happy and safe holidays to all! Start of Term 3 - Tuesday 19 July Please note that students commence Term 3 on Tuesday 18 July. We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, ready to take on another challenging and rewarding term. EXCURSIONS Year 1 On Monday 5 June, Year 1 will be going on an excursion to the Australian Maritime Museum. They will take part in the Splash program which relates back to the Science topic they are covering in class. The cost of the excursion is $30, payable to the class teacher by Friday 2 June. Students are to wear their winter sports uniform and bring a packed recess and lunch, including a water bottle and a hat. In the event of wet weather the excursion will proceed as planned. Uniform It has come to our attention that many students are not adhering to the school uniform guidelines as set out by the School. Our School prides itself on its quality education and with that that the behaviour and appearance of our students. Students are to be Year 4 On Wednesday 7 June, Year 4 will be going on a historical tour of Sydney on the Hop on, hop off tour bus This coincides with their History unit First Page 3

4 Contacts which focuses on the arrival of the First Fleet into Sydney. The cost of the excursion is $50, payable to the class teacher by Monday 29 May. Students are required to be at school by 8:35am wearing their winter sports uniform and with a packed recess and lunch, including a water bottle and a hat. In the event of wet weather the excursion will be cancelled and re-scheduled for a later date in the year. Also, no refunds will be given as admission to the venue will be paid prior to the date of the excursion. Year 5 On Tuesday 13 June, Year 5 will be going on an excursion to the Sydney Observatory. Linking to the Term 2 Science topic of The Universe and Solar System, students will journey through the solar system and beyond with an astronomy guide in the spectacular 3D Space Theatre. Day will turn into a clear, starlit night in the Sydney Planetarium, where students discover how to navigate by the stars. Then from the domes (weather permitting) observe the Sun in spectacular detail through filtered telescopes. Students will need to be at school by 8:35am and will return by 3:10pm. They will travel to the venue by bus and need to bring their own packed recess and lunch, including their water bottle. Students must wear their winter School uniform including blazers and hats. The students got up close to a range of native and farmyard animals. It was a wonderful day for Kindergarten who also got to enjoy the beautiful grounds, as well as the company of their teachers and friends. I liked going on the tractor. It was very bumpy- Stephanie Matanos KA I enjoyed seeing the animals at the farm- Elena Glavas KB Year 6 Sydney Observatory On Monday 5 June, Year 6 will be going on an excursion to the Sydney Observatory to participate in a weather extremes workshop. Students will be learning about how weather affects the earth s Page 4

5 Infants Athletics Carnival Last month, K-2 had their Athletics Carnival. The students had a wonderful day participating in a great number of events. Thank you to the P, C & F Committee for organising the delicious sausage sizzle. The results for the day were: 1st Athena, 2nd Apollo, 3rd Zeus and 4th Aphrodite. Thank you to all the parents who attended and assisted on the day. Primary Athletics Carnival The Primary Athletics Carnival held last month was a great success. It was fantastic to see so many students trying hard in a variety of events. Thank you to the P, C & F Committee who volunteered their time to serve delicious snacks and a tasty sausage sizzle. Battle of Crete The Battle for Crete was one of the most dramatic battles of the Second World War. Over 12 days in May 1941, a mixed force of New Zealanders, British, Australian and Greek troops desperately tried to fight off a huge German airborne assault. Despite suffering appalling casualties, the parachutists and glider-borne troops who led the invasion managed to secure a foothold on the island and eventually gained the upper hand. The battle ended with the evacuation to Egypt of the bulk of the Allied force. We commemorate this battle every year with a great sense of pride and gratitude to the soldiers who fought in this battle. Thank you to all the students who proudly represented our School at the Battle of Crete commemoration last Saturday. Page 5

6 High School Open Night The High School Open Night, put on by the High School last month was a huge success. Students and their parents were able to go on a guided tour of the School, speak to teachers and view samples of students work. There was a very large turnout of students and parents both from within and outside the School. The High School teachers look forward to spending more time with the upcoming Year 7 students in the near future. Cooking Club The Monday afternoon co-curricular cooking club has been a huge success. This term the students have made club sandwiches, fruit kebabs, trifle, pasta salad and chocolate mousse. The students have enjoyed preparing and eating these snacks every week. Page 6

7 High School News FORTHCOMING EVENTS Half Yearly Examinations Years 7 to 10 will be sitting for their Half Yearly Examinations on Monday, 5 June till Friday, 9 June We wish all students good luck! Queen s Birthday Monday, 12 June is the Queen s birthday and a public holiday. There will be no school on this day. Year 11 Parent/Teacher Interviews Parents/Caregivers of Year 11 students are invited to attend the Parent/Teacher Evening interviews that will be held on Wednesday, 21 June This is an excellent opportunity for parents/caregivers to meet their children s teachers and discuss their progress. Students will receive a booking sheet and are required to book appointments with their teachers. Holy Communion On Thursday, 21 June, all students will attend church in the morning, where they will have the opportunity to receive Holy Communion. Students are encouraged to be adequately prepared. End Of Term Two Term two ends on Friday, 23 June. School resumes on Tuesday, 18 July, following week two of the timetable cycle. We wish all students a safe and happy holiday! TERM 3 Athletics Carnival The School Athletics Carnival will take place on Thursday, 20 July. Keep fit on the holidays and good luck to all the competitors. Church Attendance Years 11 and 12: Sunday, 23 July: 9 30 am. Trial HSC Examinations The Trial Higher School Certificate Examinations begin on Monday, 31 July and they conclude on Tuesday 15 August. We wish all Year 12 students good luck! Bus Proposal Expressions Of Interest A request has been made to determine the feasibility of organising a private bus service from Sylvania and surrounding areas. This will be a school charter, available only for our students, directly to and from the College each day. The service will be a fee-based student transportation service that is contracted through the School, but paid for by parents and caregivers. The exact route that the bus will take is subject to expressions of interest in this service. Similarly, a cost for the service can only be given once firm numbers are given to the operator and a quote is given. Page 7

8 Whilst we have canvassed select families about their interest in a bus service, we received only limited responses. If you are aware of any other families who may be interested in the service, please ask them. To register your interest in using this service, please to contact Ms Zafiriou at tzafiriou@steuphemia.nsw.edu.au SPORTS REPORT Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Schools Event This year, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Schools Event (GOOANSE) was hosted by All Saints Grammar, here in Sydney. It was an outstanding tournament, where 54 students from St Euphemia College competed in 10 sporting events against students from the seven Greek Orthodox Schools across Australia. These are phenomenal achievements. Congratulations to all the competitors. In addition to the sporting events, eleven students participated in a Performing Arts exhibition, in which they presented a speech and traditional Greek dancing in front of all the competing schools during the Championship Dinner on Thursday night. Congratulations to these students. I would like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of Ms Edhouse, Ms Papastamatis, Mr Theodoulou, Mr Vardouniotis and Mr Xanthoudakis leading up to and during the competition. The event took place from Wednesday, 3 May to Friday, 5 May The College finished champion school, on 49 points overall, 3 ahead of 2nd place, Oakleigh Grammar from Melbourne. This was by far our best result ever. We should all be extremely proud. Our students played with such enthusiasm, heart and great spirit. It would be impossible to list all the highlights, but there are a few that definitely need special mention. Out of the 10 events in which we competed, we placed either 1st, 2nd or 3rd in nine of them. The Boys Outdoor Soccer team, Girls Netball and Girls Indoor Soccer teams finished champions. These are amazing results for the students and coaches. Our other teams performed exceptionally well also. The Boys Volleyball, Table Tennis and Girls Basketball teams just missed out on the trophy, finishing in second place. Also, the Boys Indoor Soccer, Boys Basketball and Girls Volleyball teams finished third. Page 8

SWISSA Cross Country On 15 May 2017, twenty seven students from St Euphemia College competed at the annual SWISSA Cross Country, hosted by Redeemer Baptist School in North Parramatta. 11 Τα Νέα της Αγίας Ευφημίας Η Επίσκεψη των Ευζώνων Την Τρίτη 2 Μαΐου, η Ελληνική Προεδρική Φρουρά τίμησε το Σχολείο μας με την παρουσία του. Παρέλασε από το προαύλιο μέχρι την αίθουσα τελετών του σχολείου μας, όπου στεκόταν σε προσοχή μπροστά σε όλους, καθόλη τη διάρκεια της παρουσίασης. Ο λοχαγός Θεοφάνης Κασιμάτης έκανε μια παρουσίαση PowerPoint αναφορικά στην ιστορία των Ευζώνων, στο ρόλο τους και το συμβολισμό της στολής τους. Ήταν μια πολύ ευχάριστη και ενημερωτική επίσκεψη για το διδακτικό προσωπικό και τους μαθητές μας Page 11

12 ΤA ΝEA TOU ΔHMOTIKOU Εγγραφές Νηπιαγωγείου και Προνήπιου 2018 Υπενθυμίζουμε τους γονείς, φίλους και συγγενείς των οποίων τα παιδιά θα πάνε στο Νηπιαγωγείο ή το Προνήπιο το 2018, να βεβαιωθούν ότι έχουν γράψει τα παιδιά τους. Αν δεν έχει γίνει η εγγραφή, θα πρέπει να συμπληρωθεί η αίτηση εγγραφής και να επιστραφεί στη Γραμματέα του σχολείου, την κα Κιαχίδης το συντομότερο δυνατό. Γενέθλια της Βασίλισσας- ΣΧΟΛΙΚΗ ΑΡΓΙΑ Τη Δευτέρα 12 Ιουνίου θα έχουμε σχολική αργία λόγο των Γενεθλίων της Βασίλισσας. Συνεντεύξεις Γονέων/Δασκάλων Νηπιαγωγείου Στ Δημοτικού Οι συνεντεύξεις Γονέων/Δασκάλων θα λάβουν χώρα την Τρίτη 20 Ιουνίου μεταξύ 3.10μ.μ. και 7.00μμ. Έχει ήδη σταλεί σημείωμα στο σπίτι όπου μπορούν οι γονείς να σημειώσουν την ώρα που θέλουν να συναντήσουν τη δασκάλα του παιδιού τους. συμμετοχής εάν μπορούν να βρίσκονται στο σχολείο στις 5:3πμ, για την πρώτη πρόγνωση του καιρού με τον Sam Mac. Αγώνες PSSA στο διάστημα διακοπών Οι χειμερινοί αγώνες PSSA θα λάβουν χώρα την Παρασκευή 30 Ιουνίου, στο διάστημα των σχολικών διακοπών. Οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να συναντήσουν τους προπονητές τους στα εξής γήπεδα έως τις 12:40μ.μ. Οι αγώνες αρχίζουν στις 1:00 ακριβώς. Ενθαρρύνουμε τους μαθητές να πάρουν μέρος στους αγώνες, ώστε να μην ακυρωθούν. CUA Διασκεδαστικός Αγώνας δρόμου Βρισκόμαστε στην ευχάριστη θέση να συμμετέχουμε φέτος στο Διασκεδαστικό Αγώνα Δρόμου CUA. Ο Αγώνας θα λάβει χώρα την Πέμπτη 1 Ιουνίου στο Lake Gillawarna, Georges Hall. Οι μαθητές θα ταξιδέψουν με λεωφορείο μετά τις 9:00πμ, από το Σχολείο. Επίσης με μεγάλη χαρά σας ανακοινώνουμε πως το Πρόγραμμα του Καναλιού 7 θα βιντεοσκοπήσει τη συμμετοχή του Σχολείου μας στο Διασκεδαστικό Αγώνα Δρόμου. Ενθαρρύνουμε όλους τους μαθητές να επιστρέψουν στη δασκάλα τους την άδεια Χώροι Αγώνων: Κορίτσια Netball Deveral Park, Condell Park Κορίτσια ποδόσφαιρο Neville Reserve, Bass Hill Αγόρια ποδόσφαιρο Jim Ring Reserve, Birrong Αγόρια Newcombe Ball Georges Hall Public School Κορίτσια Newcombe Ball Bye round (ΚΑΝΕΝΑΣ αγώνας) Αναρρωτική Άδεια Το σχολείο καταγράφει την αιτία κάθε απουσίας των μαθητών ώστε να επιβεβαιώνεται πως υπάρχει κάποιος λόγος υγείας ή άλλος σοβαρός λόγος που δικαιολογεί την απουσία. Σύμφωνα με το Νόμο, οι Page 12

13 γονείς θα πρέπει να δικαιολογήσουν την απουσία των παιδιών τους μέσα σε εφτά μέρες. Οι γονείς θα πρέπει να δίνουν ένα σημείωμα στη δασκάλα της τάξης, όπου θα δηλώνουν τις ημέρες που απουσίαζε το παιδί τους καθώς και την αιτία των απουσιών αυτών. Αν οι γονείς ξέρουν εκ των προτέρων ότι θα απουσιάζει το παιδί τους για περισσότερες από τρεις μέρες, θα πρέπει να ειδοποιούν το σχολείο μέσω της Γραμματείας του Δημοτικού Σχολείου. Αίτηση για Ειδική Άδεια Η τακτική παρουσία των μαθητών στο σχολείο είναι απαραίτητη προκειμένου για την πρόοδό τους. Το σχολείο σε συνεργασία με τους γονείς θα πρέπει να προωθεί την τακτική παρουσία των μαθητών στο σχολείο. Σύμφωνα με το νόμο Εκπαίδευσης 1990, οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να παρακολουθούν τα μαθήματά τους τακτικά. Οι οικογενειακές διακοπές θα πρέπει να συμπίπτουν με την περίοδο των σχολικών διακοπών. Αν για οποιονδήποτε λόγο αυτό δεν είναι εφικτό, οι γονείς θα πρέπει να συμπληρώσουν μια αίτηση ειδικής άδειας όπου θα αναγράφουν την ημερομηνία της αναχώρησης καθώς και την ημερομηνία της άφιξης. Από τώρα και στο εξής, κάθε άδεια για ταξίδι αναψυχής λαμβάνετε ως απουσία. Διαγωνισμός ICAS Έκθεσης και Αγγλικών Ο Διαγωνισμός ICAS Έκθεσης θα λάβει χώρα τη Δευτέρα 14 Ιουνίου και Αγγλικών την Τρίτη 1 Αυγούστου. Οι μαθητές θα μπορέσουν να συμμετέχουν στο διαγωνισμό αυτό εφόσον έχουν πληρώσει τα έξοδα της συμμετοχής τους σε όλους τους διαγωνισμούς ICAS που θα διεξαχθούν κατά τη διάρκεια του χρόνου. Αν θέλετε να συμμετάσχει το παιδί σας στους διαγωνισμούς αυτούς θα πρέπει να πληρώσετε 9 δολάρια πριν τις 15 Ιουνίου. Η «Πρόκληση Ανάγνωσης» Πρωθυπουργού Η «Πρόκληση Ανάγνωσης» του Πρωθυπουργού έχει ήδη αρχίσει. Η «Πρόκληση Ανάγνωσης» ενθαρρύνει τα παιδιά του Δημοτικού να αγαπήσουν το διάβασμα και να βιώσουν την αξία της λογοτεχνίας. Αποτελεί μία πρόκληση να διαβάσουν τα παιδιά όσο τα δυνατόν περισσότερο. Οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να επιστρέψουν το βιβλιαράκι συμμετοχής για να προσθέσουν τα βιβλία τους στο διαδίκτυο. Η πρόκληση τελειώνει το Σεπτέμβριο, οπότε όσοι μαθητές δεν έχουν αρχίσει, υπάρχει ακόμη χρόνος να το κάνουν. Σχολική Στολή Τελευταία έχουμε παρατηρήσει ότι μερικά παιδιά δεν φορούν τη σωστή σχολική στολή συμφωνα με τους κανόνες του σχολείου μας. Το σχολείο μας φημίζεται για την άριστη εκπαίδευση που προσφέρει παράλληλα με την άψογη εμφάνιση και συμπεριφορά των μαθητών μας. Οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να φορούν τη σωστή σχολική σχολή καθημερινά. Επίσης θα πρέπει να έχουν το σωστό κούρεμα. Το κούρεμα των αγοριών θα πρέπει να είναι κοντό και ομοιόμορφο χωρίς «καπελάκι» και διάφορα κοψίματα. Ευελπιστούμε να σας καλωσορίσουμε όλους πίσω στο σχολείο την Τρίτη, για να ξεκινήσουμε το επόμενο τρίμηνο εποικοδομητικά. Σχολική Στολή Οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να φορούν τη σωστή σχολική σχολή. Ως σχολική κοινότητα ενθαρρύνουμε τους μαθητές μας να νιώθουν υπερήφανοι για την εμφάνισή τους και το σχολείο τους. Για το πετύχουμε αυτό, οι γονείς θα πρέπει ακολουθούν τους κανονισμούς σχετικά με τη σωστή σχολική στολή, όπως αναφέρεται στο Σχολικό Ημερολόγιο καθώς και σε άρθρα της σχολικής εφημερίδας. Εκδρομές: Α Δημοτικού-National Maritime Museum Τη Δευτέρα 5 Ιουνίου, οι μαθητές της Α Δημοτικού θα επισκεφθούν το National Maritime Museum όπου θα συμμετάσχουν στο Πρόγραμμα: Splash. Το Πρόγραμμα αυτό συσχετίζεται με τα μαθήματα της Φυσικής του Β Τρίμηνο. Το κόστος της εκδρομής είναι 30 δολάρια. Παρακαλώ να πληρώσετε το ποσό αυτό στη δασκάλα της τάξης έως την Παρασκευή 2 Ιουνίου. Σε περίπτωση βροχής η εκδρομή θα πραγματοποιηθεί. Δ Δημοτικού-Historical tour of Sydney Την Τετάρτη 7 Ιουνίου η Δ Δημοτικού θα πάρουν μέρος σε μια ιστορική ξενάγηση του Σύδνεϋ με λεωφορείο. Η εκδρομή γίνεται στα πλαίσια της σχετικής ενότητας της Ιστορίας με τίτλο «Πρώτες Επαφές» που εστιάζεται στην άφιξη του Πρώτου Στόλου στο Σύδνεϋ. Το κόστος της εκδρομής είναι 50 δολάρια και θα πρέπει να πληρωθεί στη δασκάλα της τάξης έως τη Δευτέρα 29 Μαΐου. Οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να βρίσκονται στο σχολείο έως τις 8:35πμ και να φέρουν μαζί τους πρωινό και μεσημεριανό μαζί με ένα μπουκάλι νερό. Επίσης θα πρέπει να φορούν την πλήρη χειμερινή αθλητική τους στολή μαζί με το καπέλο τους. Σε περίπτωση βροχής η εκδρομή θα ακυρωθεί και θα πραγματοποιηθεί αργότερα. Ε Δημοτικού-Αστεροσκοπείο του Σύδνεϋ Την Τρίτη 13 Ιουνίου, οι μαθητές της Ε Δημοτικού θα επισκεφτούν το Αστεροσκοπείο του Σύδνεϋ στα πλαίσια των μαθημάτων της Φυσικής με θέμα «Το Σύμπαν και το Ηλιακό Σύστημα» και θα κάνουν ένα φανταστικό τρισδιάστατο ταξίδι στο Ηλιακό μας Σύστημα και ακόμη πιο πέρα. Θα εξερευνήσουν τα άστρα και θα παρατηρήσουν τον ήλιο μέσα από φιλτραρισμένα τηλεσκόπια. Επίσης θα δούνε πώς χρησιμοποιούνταν τα ηλιακά ρολόγια. Οι μαθητές θα πρέπει να βρίσκονται στο σχολείο έως τις 8:35πμ και θα επιστρέψουν μέχρι τις 3:10μμ. Θα ταξιδέψουν με λεωφορείο και θα πρέπει να φέρουν μαζί τους πρωινό και μεσημεριανό γεύμα καθώς κι ένα μπουκάλι νερό σε ένα μικρό σακίδιο. Οι μαθητές θα πάρουν μέρος σε εργαστήρια που εξετάζουν τα καιρικά φαινόμενα. Θα μάθουν την επιρροή του καιρού στη Γη, θα εξετάσουν πώς συγκεντρώνονται και πώς ερμηνεύονται τα στοιχεία του καιρού μέσω της τεχνολογίας, ώστε να αντιμετωπίζουν τις καταστροφικές συνθήκες του καιρού. Βραδιά Ενημέρωσης του Γυμνασίου Η Βραδιά Ενημέρωσης του Γυμνασίου που έλαβε χώρα τον προηγούμενο μήνα είχε τεράστια επιτυχία. Οι μαθητές μαζί με τους γονείς τους ξεναγήθηκαν στο σχολείο, μίλησαν με τους εκπαιδευτικούς και είδαν μερικά δείγματα εργασιών των μαθητών. Στην εκδήλωση αυτή έλαβαν μέρος πολλοί μαθητές και γονείς του Σχολείου μας αλλά και μαθητές άλλων σχολείων. Οι καθηγητές του Γυμνασίου ευελπιστούν ότι θα γνωρίσουν καλύτερα τους μαθητές της Α Γυμνασίου στο εγγύς μέλλον. Μαθήματα Μαγειρικής Τα μαθήματα μαγειρικής που έλαβαν χώρα κάθε Δευτέρα είχαν μεγάλη επιτυχία. Αυτό το Τρίμηνο οι μαθητές έφτιαξαν: Κλαμπ Σάντουιτς, φρουτοσουβλάκια, Γλυκά, σαλάτα ζυμαρικών και σοκολατένια μους. Οι μαθητές, με μεγάλη χαρά έφτιαχναν και απολάμβαναν όλες αυτές τις λιχουδιές κάθε εβδομάδα. Page 15

16 ΝΕΑ ΤΟΥ ΓΥΜΝΑΣΙΟΥ ΔΕΥΤΕΡΟ ΤΡΙΜΗΝΟ Εξετάσεις Πρώτου Εξαμήνου Οι εξετάσεις της Α Γυμνασίου έως της Α Λυκείου θα διεξαχθούν από τη Δευτέρα 5 Ιουνίου έως την Παρασκευή 9 Ιουνίου Ευχόμαστε σε όλους τους μαθητές μας Καλή Επιτυχία. Αργία Τη Δευτέρα 12 Ιουνίου έχουμε αργία λόγω των γενεθλίων της Βασίλισσας. Επομένως το σχολείο θα είναι κλειστό. Συνεντεύξεις Γονέων/Κηδεμόνων Καθηγητών Οι συνεντεύξεις Γονέων/Κηδεμόνων-Καθηγητών για τους μαθητές της Β Λυκείου έχουν προγραμματιστεί για την Τετάρτη 21 Ιουνίου Αυτή η βραδιά είναι μια πολύ καλή ευκαιρία για τους γονείς/κηδεμόνες να γνωρίσουν τους καθηγητές και να συζητήσουν μαζί τους την πρόοδο των παιδιών τους. Οι μαθητές παρακαλούνται να κλείσουν ραντεβού με τους καθηγητές τους εκ των προτέρων. Θεία Κοινωνία Την Πέμπτη, 22 Ιουνίου έχουμε εκκλησιασμό για όλους τους μαθητές. Οι μαθητές θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να λάβουν την Θεία Κοινωνία αν έχουν προετοιμαστεί κατάλληλα. ΤΡΙΤΟ ΤΡΙΜΗΝΟ Αθλητικοί Αγώνες Οι ετήσιοι Αθλητικοί Αγώνες θα διεξαχθούν την Πέμπτη 20 Ιουλίου. Καλή επιτυχία σε όσους θα λάβουν μέρος στους αγώνες. Εκκλησιασμός Ο υποχρεωτικός εκκλησιασμός είναι ως εξής: Β - Γ Λυκείου 9.30π.μ. Κυριακή, 23 Ιουλίου και ώρα Συνεντεύξεις Γονέων/Κηδεμόνων Καθηγητών Γ Γυμνασίου Α Λυκείου Οι συνεντεύξεις Γονέων/Κηδεμόνων Καθηγητών για τους μαθητές της Γ Γυμνασίου και Α Λυκείου έχουν προγραμματιστεί για την Τετάρτη 26 Ιουλίου, 2017 από τις 3.30μ.μ. 6.30μ.μ. Οι μαθητές παρακαλούνται να κλείσουν ραντεβού με τους καθηγητές τους εκ των προτέρων. Δοκιμαστικές Εξετάσεις του HSC Οι μαθητές της Γ Λυκείου θα περάσουν τις χειμερινές διακοπές τους μελετώντας για τις Δοκιμαστικές Εξετάσεις του HSC.
