Assistants: Module Description: The purpose of this course is to provide the student with knowledge on: Identify the position of Greece in the global economy and trade. Greece's participation in regional and multilateral economic organization. The level of international and bilateral trade relations between Greece and the countries of the EU, the BSEC, the Balkans and the world. Identifying the problems and prospects of foreign trade and economic cooperation between Greece and the EU and third countries. Analysis of the results of the Greek external trade with EU countries, the BSEC, the Balkans, the Mediterranean, North America and the world in the period 2000-today. Analysis the effects of Greek investment and business activities of Greek enterprises in the EU, BSEC and the Balkans. Analysis the competitive export sectors and the structure of intra-and external trade of Greece (by commodity, service, country, region, economic organization). The development of national and community supportive policy and financing of Greek businesses in the international market. The role of business associations and organizations in support of foreign trade activities. 1
The development of new national export strategy and increase the competitiveness of Greek products. Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to: 1. Have knowledge and describes the Greek position in the global economy and trade. 2. To evaluate the role of Greece in the European deepening architecture and in the EU and the European course of the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe to the EU. 3. Identify the problems and prospects of trade and economic cooperation between Greece and the countries of the EU, the BSEC, the Balkans and the world. 4. Analyze and explain the obligations and benefits of Greece's participation in regional and multilateral financial institutions 5. Consider and synthesizes the results of international economic relations of Greece with the countries of the EU, the BSEC, the Balkans, the Mediterranean, North America and the world in the period 2000-2010. 6. Consider and analyze the competitive export industries and the dynamics of intra-and external trade of Greece (by commodity, service, country, region, economic organization). 7. Evaluate and draw results and prospects of Greek investment and business activities of Greek enterprises in the EU, BSEC and the Balkans, but also organizing networking distribution of Greek products. 8. Evaluate the investment of energy and environmental cooperation between Greece and the Balkan Black Sea area. 9. Evaluate and propose guidelines for effective national and community supportive policy and financing of Greek businesses in the international market. 10. Consider and determine the promotion of Greek products abroad and participation in international exhibitions. 11. explains the intensification of international competition and judge the worsening financial instability, propose effectively results in ensuring the competitiveness of Greece and the EU in the global economy.
