If the behaviou of the man of onsume mentality is unaeptable as applied atheism, then let us see what is the elationship of the faithful with the goods, when he is not simply a onswne, but a 'Patiipant': Thee is no doubt that the faithful has basially the same mateial and existential needs in geneal as any othe man. The diffeene is that the faithful hastens to satisfy these needs not aoding to the measue of what is possible, but aoding to the measue of what is lawful. In othe wods not as he is able and to what degee he an, but as to how it is pemitted by the divine will. Knowing that God eated all things fo tansfomation and not fo elimination, the faithful patiipates in all goods of eation with espet and gatitude, namely with a "euhaisti" disposition. The fist feeling, theefoe, that the faithful has towads things is that they ae gifts of God's povidene, wisdom and goodness.
