Several types of cells including po lygonal, round granu lar, deltaic fan2shaped and flagel2 lated cells w ere found, of w h ich po lygonal cells w ere dom inan ṫ T here w ere pap illae, m icrovilli o r m icrovesicles on the su rface of som e cellṡ L ess o r m o re m itochondria, en2 dop lasm ic reticu la, ribo som es and glycogen granu les ex isted in the cytop lasm. How ev2 er, V ery few o r no Go lgi com p lexes w ere found. T he u ltrastructu ral changes of m ito2 chondria cou ld be u sed to estim ate w hether the cu ltu re condition s w ere app rop riate o r no ṫ N ucleu s w as round, w ith round nucleo lu s in side and clear po res on the nuclear m em b rane. T here w as m uch heteroch rom atin in the nucleu s, som e of w h ich located ju st in side the nuclear m em b rane w as lum p ish heteroch rom atin. How ever, Cells from differen t tissues had differen t structu ral characteristicṡ Germ cells w ere characterized by relatively h igh nucleu sgcytop lasm ratio s, m any vacuo les in differen t sizes and several types of co rtical granu leṡ T here w ere vitelline drop lets and globu les com po sed of very h igh electron ic den sity granu les in vitelline cells, cilium clu s2 ters in flam e cells, and m any round o r ellip t ica l vacuo les in nerve cells. M uch heteroch rom atin w as found in T here w ere m any free ribo som es (R i), vacuo les w ith different size, m itochondria (M i), endop lasm ic reticula (ER ) and glycogen granules in the cytop lasm ] (Cg II) [A germ cell cultured fo r 12 days. There w ere co rtical granules (Cg II) and vacuo les w ith different size in the cytop lasm ] , İ (Cg I), Iİ (Cg II), IIİ (Cg III) [A germ cell cultured fo r 48 days. T here w ere clusters of co rtical granules in the periphery of cellm em brane. The co rtical granules could be divided into the fo llow ing three types: İ concen2 tric (Cg I), Iİ partially dense (Cg II), IIİ entirely dense (Cg III) ] g (P late g ) 1. 2,, 9+ 0 ( ) 9+ 2 (Τ ) [F lam e cells cultured fo r 2 days. T hey w ere characterized by cilium clusters. A cilium consisted of a 9+ 0 ( ) basal part and 9+ 2 (Τ ) free parṫ m atin w as found in the nucleus. Cell and nucleus w ere round. M uch heteroch ro2 There w ere m itochondria, endop lasm ic reticula, ribo som es and glycogen granules in the cytop lasm. C ilia in cro ss and longitudinal sections could be seen in the figure ] ,, ( ) ( Τ ) [A flam e cell cultured fo r 63 days. Cytop lasm appeared to be electron lucenṫ Electron density of the m i2 tochondriaw as also low er. N uclear po re ( ) becam e large. C ilium clusters w ere covered by cell coat (Τ ) ] (M i) [A germ cell cultured fo r 2 dayṡ T here w ere m any m itochondria (M i) in different shapes in the cytop lasm ] , (VD ) ( ) [ Imm ature vitelline cells cultured fo r 37 days. Som e clectron lucent areas appeared in the cell. A bundant heterochrom atin w as found in the nucleus. In the cytop lasm, there w ere no rm al vitelline globules in mo st of vitelline drop lets (VD ), and rough2surfaced endop lasm ic reticula ( ) around the drop lets ] ,, ( ) (Τ ) ; (M i) (M v) [A nerve cell cultured fo r 13 days. T here w ere m any round o r ellip ti2 cal vacuo les, m itochondria (M i) and m ultivesicular bodies (M v) in the cytop lasm. The vacuo les could be divided into tw e types: granulated vesicle ( ) and clear vesicle (Τ ) ] , (L ) ; [A imm ature vitelline cell cultured fo r 36 days. A bundant heterochrom atin w as found in the nucleus. In cytop lasm, som e vitelline globules in the vitelline drop lets fused, and lip id drop lets (L ) appeared at the sam e tim e ] 8 000
